“Whirligig” a film by MFA Candidate James Gould has been accepted to the 2011 Dance for Camera Festival

James Gould and Kristen Lucas’ short dance film Whirligig, was selected out of 80 national and international submissions to screen at the 2011 Dance for Camera Festival hosted by the University of Utah Departments of Modern Dance and Film & Media Arts. Gould (MFA Candidate Film and Video Production) and Lucas (MFA Candidate Dance) began their collaboration while they were enrolled in DCE 581, a class which pairs Dance students with Media Studies majors. Gould and Lucas hope to produce future works in the genre. They would also like to thank Dr. Jan Van Dyke, Dr. Michael Frierson, and UNCG dancers Lindsey Archer and Laura Gumbrecht for making Whirligig a success.
