The entries will be screened as part of the UNCG Sustainability Film Series at the Weatherspoon Art Museum at 6:30 on the evenings of March 24 and 25. Judging will be based upon criteria that will include, but not be limited to, concept, cinematography, acting, production quality, costuming, and writing.

You are eligible if you:
1. Create a short film about sustainability (shorter than 10 mins)
2. Turn it (and form) in to Sarah Dorsey by February 25, 2011

The winners will be announced at a celebratory reception on the 25th. Prizes will be awarded to winners! ($500, $300, $200 or equipment of equivalent value)

2011 – SECOND ANNUAL – UNCG Sustainability Shorts Competition Rules:

1. Entries must clearly address the theme of environmental sustainability.
2. Winners must be present on March 25th to claim prizes.
3. Entrants will retain all ownership rights to their films submitted.
4. Short films that are submitted must be the entrant’s original work and shall not infringe on any copyrights or any other rights of any third parties. Contestants must obtain all required permissions regarding music, sound and/or images presented in their entries. By entering the competition, the entrant agrees that the UNCG Sustainability Committee will not be held liable for any copyright infringements perpetrated by you or your short film.
5. The UNCG Sustainability Committee reserves the right to not screen any film(s) for any reason it deems valid. Winners will be required to sign an affidavit confirming that their short film is original and s/he holds all rights. Failure to sign and return the form within the required time period (30 days) or provision of false information may result in disqualification and an alternate winner may be selected.
6. Films must not exceed ten minutes in length.
7. All entries must be submitted on DVD.
8. All entries must be accompanied by a complete application form – see sustain.uncg.edu (???)
9. All entries must be submitted by 5pm on February 25, 2011 to Sarah Dorsey – Music Library, campus
10. Prizes are not negotiable or transferable. The decisions of the judges are final.
11. By entering the competition, entrants agree to these rules.
